In Memory

Steven Hyman

Right after high school, Steve signed with the San Diego Padres.  He went to their farm team.  He was injured three weeks in and that ended of baseball for him.

Steve attended Jacksonville University and then moved to Atlanta.  He met his wife in Atlanta and they have two sons, Jason and Jared. Steve instilled his love of sports to his sons.  His oldest, Jason, is a huge sports fan. He is on a 30 minute radio program each week for the Atlanta Braves.  His younger son, Jared, went to Amerian University.  He began wrestling, another sport that Steve loved.  Jared was training for the Olympics when he was injred and that ended his wrestling.  In approximately 2003 or 2004,  the whole family went to Las Vegas where Steve and Jared participated in wrestling competition for their respective age groups.  Steve and Jared both came in second place!  Jared collects and sells sports memorabilia at shows and online.

Steve was diagnosed with colon cancer in May of 2006 and passed away shortly afterward on June 2, 2006.

Always hated to scrimmage against Steve. He was so difficult and powerful when he ran fullback. Great guy bigger than life.

Steve was very talented in HS football. He was also kind to those who he defeated. We  will miss Steve.
