In Memory

Michael Everett Sneed

Mike passed away during his tour with the US Navy. He was a passenger in a jeep that was involved in an  accident, and passed away from drowning, resulting from a head injury.

One of my very best friends at CP. He was my fellow QB on the team until he got injured. We used to go in his '57 Ford to Southbeach (when it was just a beach and not all of the clubs it has now) oon many weekends. I remember listing to Pretty Woman on the radio and Mike singing the song. I still miss him. He died in a jeep accident while in the US Navy, I was told.

We were friends all through Jr High and High Shcool....lots of fun times! Sad he's not with us anymore!

Wow, I cannot believe how this hit me when I saw Danny's comment on Mike Snead.  Mike was my best friend from age two.  His death was the first of anyone close to me.  I never felt less adequate than when his sisters and parents asked how his death made sense.  I still remember his sister's wedding when we were twelve years old--maybe I should say I remember the hangover--some very thoughtful friends took us bowling that day.

He was one of the nicest people I ever met and I was so upset when he passed away. I still think of him at every reunion. Such a waste.

I always knew Mike to be a polite sweet guy! Whenever I hear the old sayin," the good die young" I think of him, and in my mind he's forever young.
