Walter Martin "Marty" Bishop

After high school, I interned at Philbrick and Reed Gautier Funeral Home. And then as 1st mate on Yachts Natamor and Dorisam.

Next came the active Army in Vietnam, Thailand, and Hawaii (68-71) Graduated from Miami-Dade JC. Back in uniform as active duty Army National Guard officer, then the Army Reserve until 86.
After a short stint as Planning Officer at Miami-Dade Police, I became the Director of Emergency Management for Miami-Dade County. I moved to Tallahassee as Deputy Director of Drug and Crime Policy, Office of the Governor, and afterward, Director of Emergency Management for the City of Tallahassee. I retired in 2010 in Tallahassee with a 100% combat-related disability.

Took care of Shadrack (his ( name was actually Pete) with Dan Zinn. Often drove an ambulance or hearse to class because I actually lived in a funeral home my senior year. If there was an ambulance call I would get a classmate to ride with me. Sure was a far cry from EMS today.
