Tom joined the Navy in December, 1967; stationed two years in Meridian, MS and 20 years in Jacksonville, FL. After retiring from the USN after 22 years, he began another career in 1992 with the U.S. Postal Service that spanned 20 years, retiring in 2012. I retired in June, 2014 with 37 years of service with the Duval County School Board. This past year has been difficult for our family with losing Tom so suddenly on September 6, 2014, even though we have a fantastic support system. Life is so different without the love of your life by your side but he is always in my heart. We met at Coral Park in December, 1964; went together all through high school; married in March, 1968 and had a beautiful life for 46+ years. I am honored to have been married to such a wonderful, caring and loving man!
School Story

Little did we know that we were making memories beginning in 1964 with Tom graduating in 1966 and I in 1967. I wish everyone could have had such a wonderful high school experience that we did. I went to three proms with my Sweetheart and then married him when he came home from bootcamp on March 19, 1968. All of this began at Miami Coral Park High School and I cherish the memories!!!

My dear husband actually served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 through 1989 - 22 years of outstanding military service.  He was extremely proud of his Naval service followed by 20 years of service with the United States Postal Service, retiring fully in August, 2012.  Linda Givens DeAbreu (Class of 1967)
